Some of the Colors are Hard to Read...
I recently had a request related to the colors of the website: "The color scheme of the website makes it really hard to read the text of links. If possible, could you ask the webmaster to try different schemes to come up with something that doesn't hurt the eye?"
It seemed like a reasonable request, so I replied, "The colors are based off the colors of the journal each month, so we're partially limited by that. That said, I'm more techie than I am good at figuring out what is aesthetically/visually pleasing. Lighter? Darker? Bluer? Redder? Greener? Give me a direction and I'll see what I can do."
Of course my response is also tained by the fact that Drupal's CSS style system likes "web safe colors". In the end, I lightened up the blue that was being used, which seems to have worked alright.
I have also recently begun creating themes for each of the CA issues. You can switch between the default (it will change with each issue) or you can select a previous issue's color theme in your account settings. Issue 22.1's theme is lost in the sands of time (I overwrote them with 22.2's) I'm afraid. I'm completely open to color suggestions however, and this thread would be a good place to post those.
