SCA 2014. “The Ends of Work”: A forum for panel construction

The SCA is proud to offer a forum for those interested in inspiring engagements with new colleagues on the "Ends of Work." Those interested in putting together a panel can submit an open call for panelists, to be published on the SCA website, by sending panel proposals to sca2014panels [at] gmail.com. Potential panelists will be able to reply to calls either through the comment function on the SCA page for each proposal (registration on this website required), or via direct email to panel organizers.

You need not submit fully formed panel proposals. However, you should provide potential participants with a clear idea of how their own contributions may fit into the resulting panel. For example, you might want to develop a panel around a theorist (“Rethinking Marx in the 21st Century”), a region (“Imagining a Jobless Future in Eastern Europe”), or a concept (“Affective Labor: Making Selves in Schools”). For now, all you need to provide is the basis for folks to be able to successfully collaborate in forging an interesting, well-focused, and provocative panel related to the conference’s themes.

We urge those searching for panels or panelists to check back at this webpage after Monday, November 18th when the first panels will be posted below. We will continue posting open panel proposals as we receive them through the beginning of January. The deadline for submitting final panel proposals is January 31, 2014. All final panel proposals should be submitted via aaanet (the link forthcoming on Dec 15).

For more information on the SCA meeting, including dates, location, and the meeting abstract, see our announcement.
