Rebecca Empson

Rebecca Empson is Professor of Anthropology at University College London. She is running a large European Research Council–funded project on people’s experiences of change in the Mongolian economy. She teaches on the anthropology of capitalisms. Her work explores forms of subjectivity in rapidly changing economic environments where ideas about democracy are being challenged and questioned in various ways. Her book Life in the Gap is forthcoming with UCL Press.
