Zalika U. Ibaorimi

Zalika U. Ibaorimi is a doctoral candidate of African and African Diaspora at the University of Texas at Austin and multidisciplinary artist. Her research situates the Black femme figure’s sexual shame, visuality, deviance, queerness, haunting, flesh, digital intimacies and pleasure through mediums of Black horror and afrosurrealism while speculating the futurity of a Black sexual politics. By combining performance-based photography and scholarship, she is invested in Black femmes and their spectators' ways of knowing shame and illegible desires through material and digital public space.
