Are you interested in becoming Editor of Cultural Anthropology? Is there someone you would like to see as Editor? SCA announces a search for the position of Editor (or Editors) of Cultural Anthropology.

The successful candidate will begin reviewing manuscripts January 1, 2014, and have responsibility for four volumes (16 issues) of the journal (2015 through 2018). Cultural Anthropology, currently in its twenty-seventh volume, publishes ethnographically-grounded work that pushes the boundaries of the discipline and enhances dialogue with other fields in the humanities, social sciences, and science studies. Nominations, self-nominations, and all inquiries should be sent as early as possible to Brad Weiss, SCA President (, at least one month in advance of the May 1, 2013 deadline in order to leave time to develop application materials in coordination with the applicant’s host institution.

Complete applications include:

• letter of application outlining the candidate’s editorial experience and vision;

• a CV addressing publication, editorial, and administrative experience;

• the names of three references who can address the candidate’s suitability for the position;

• a preliminary commitment of conventional support from the candidate’s institution such as possible work space, course release, and student assistance.
