Lamia Moghnieh is an associate professor in the Center for Culture and the Mind, at the English Germanic and Romance Studies Department at the University of Copenhagen, and co-founder and member of the Ethnography and Knowledge in the Arab Region, a working group at the Arab Council for the Social Sciences. She is a medical anthropologist and mental health practitioner, whose research examines the interplay and impact of psychiatry on social understandings of self and illness in the Arab region.
