Marko Monteiro holds a PhD in Social Sciences (University of Campinas, Brazil, 2005). He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Texas at Austin, USA (2006–2008). He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Science and Technology Policy, University of Campinas. His research interests include topics such as sociotechnical controversies; ethnographies of interdisciplinary scientific practice; and governance of S&T in Brazil. He is part of Esocite.BR (The Brazilian Association of Social Studies of Sciences and Technologies), and is an elected member of the Council of 4S – Society for the Social Studies of Science (2023–2025). He is the leader of GEICT – Interdisciplinary Research Group in Science and Technology. He is a member of the Scientific Steering Committee of the AmazonFACE project.
