Alan Klima is a visual anthropologist and filmmaker who works part time in Thailand, where he practices Buddhist meditation on corpses and in cremation grounds. His interests in the media of film and digital video, dream and documentary, meditation and philosophy, have converged in Ghosts and Numbers. He is Professor of Anthropology at the University of California, Davis, and author of The Funeral Casino, and new from Duke University Press, Ethnography #9.
