Harry Harootunian is Max Palevsky Professor of History, emeritus, University of Chicago; Research Associate, Weatherhead East Asian Institute, Columbia University. Recent publications include The Unspoken as Heritage: The Armenian Genocide and Its Unaccounted Lives (Duke University Press, 2020) and Uneven Moments: Reflections on Japan's Modern History (Columbia University Press, 2019). Harootunian is currently trying to complete a book, Fascism and Time in Modern Japan, Archaism and Anachrony.
