Joanna Mishtal is a professor of anthropology at the University of Central Florida, Department of Anthropology. She received her PhD in cultural and medical anthropology in 2006 from the University of Colorado at Boulder. From 2006 to 2008, she held a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health. Her research interests are at the intersection of gender and governance; specifically, reproductive rights, health, and policies. Her research has been supported by the U.S. Fulbright Program, the European Research Council, and the World Health Organization.
