Mallika Shakya is a Senior Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at South Asian University and served as the Acting Head of the Department until early 2020. Her book Death of an Industry: The Cultural Politics of Garment Manufacturing during the Maoist Revolution in Nepal was published by Cambridge University Press in 2018. Her writings have been published in the Journal of Royal Anthropological Institute, Dialectical Anthropology, Journal of Modern Craft, Contributions to Indian Sociology, and Economic and Political Weekly.
