Deborah Philip is a PhD Candidate in Cultural Anthropology at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York (CUNY). Her research focuses on the politics of home and unhomeliness in colonial and post-colonial Sri Lanka, with a particular focus on the Burgher minority. Her work engages non-national forms of belonging, creolization, time and temporality within this context.
